1. Texture and use experience
Soft wax: usually in paste form, with a softer texture, easy to apply and wipe, suitable for daily use.
Hard wax: a block-like solid with a harder texture, which may require more effort when used, but provides better protection.
2. Ingredients and functions
Soft wax: contains fine abrasives, soft car wax has strong cleaning and polishing capabilities, suitable for removing fine scratches and restoring gloss.
Hard wax: does not contain abrasives, is mainly used to protect the car paint, reduce damage to the car paint by external factors, and is suitable for long-term use.
3. Applicable scenarios
Soft wax: suitable for new cars or vehicles that need frequent cleaning, as well as users who pursue convenient operation.
Hard wax: suitable for old cars or vehicles that need long-term protection, especially those that are not easy to clean frequently.
Wax sponge and wax knife are two ways of taking wax for solid wax. To take wax with wax sponge, gently rotate and rub the wax sponge on the wax surface to soften the surface wax and make it stick to the wax sponge. Do not use wax sponge to violently pick out wax blocks, which will seriously affect the ductility of the wax and the uniformity of waxing. It may even be that when the wax is finally applied, the wax block is still in a solidified state stuck to the wax sponge.
To take wax with a wax knife, use a wax knife to repeatedly scrape the surface to soften it, take the softened part, and repeatedly scrape it evenly on the wax sponge. The key points are: first, do not scrape off the hard wax block directly, and second, scrape it repeatedly on the wax sponge to ensure uniform distribution.
Use wax sponge to apply a thin and uniform layer on the paint surface in a circular motion. To avoid omissions, the traces of the wax sponge should cover at least 1/3 of the previous traces.
There are two keys to waxing: even and thin. Even means even without omissions, and thin means controlling the amount used. Avoid a thick layer. The wax layer that the paint surface can absorb and adhere to is actually extremely limited. Excessive waxing is a waste, and it may also cause many problems, such as incomplete wiping, wax shadows, dust, etc.
